Cable Assembly

Our USB v.2.0
motherboard cable assembly is perfect for connecting additional
USB v.2.0 or 1.1 ports on motherboards with additional headers. Now you
can use those extra ports. Other USB motherboard cable
assemblies are not compatible with USB 2.0 but ours is. The
USB Wholesale connector is 2 X 5 and will work with 8, 9 and 10 pin out
configurations. A straightened paper clip is all you need to
loosen, move and rest the wires to match your specific pin out
assignment. Here's how:
Adjust the Harness to Match Your Motherboards Specific Pin Out
Assignment
(Consult your
motherboard manual for the specific pin out assignment)

The wires of the
cable assembly can be easily moved to match the pin out
assignment. Press on the side of the wiring harness at the
indentation next to the wire that you want to move. This will
release the wire from the harness. A straightened paper clip,
straight pin or precision screw driver works well for this
purpose. When you have positioned the wires correctly, secure
them in the harness by depressing the harness tab again. Take
care to lift the tab only enough to release the wire. If you lift
the tab too high the plastic tab will not reset and the wire
connection will not be secure.

Improperly wiring
a USB port can result in permanent and fatal damage to the
motherboard, the USB port and ANY peripheral connected to the
motherboard.
It is imperative that the specific USB pin out assignment for your
motherboard make and model is obtained from the maker before any
attempt is made to connect the cable to the motherboard. Simply
knowing which pin is #1 is not enough information to properly wire
a USB port.
